Mine is in the air after about 15 Hrs of build and check time running on 6s, 5000mah pack with the Mercury Alloy 12 Blade 90mm 1900kv EDF . from a nice grass runway, with full throttle it can just reach take off speed, just. only barely just. Then the climb out is marginal at best, its handy to have a bit of headwind.
once its in the air, with retracts up, if i run full throttle it gets along nicely , enough power for some aerobatics, loops, etc. but I only get 5 mins flight time. ( drawing around 90 amps ) .

it will fly OK at 1/2 to 1/3 throttle, in fact it looks so slow you would think its about to fall out of the sky. landing is very predictable. Did I mention that from grass, it can just reach take off speed, only just. Did I mention that?

in short I would not recommend my power system in this model, iv been told the air intake path is too restrictive for the 12 blade fan. something about these fans are good at pushing, but not so much at sucking the air in from a long narrow intake that has obstructions such as wing spars and joiners - but it does sound awesome and looks really great in the air, when it finally gets their, after using the foll length of the runway, just when your deciding if you should abort the take off, yeah, it provides plenty on fun for the peanut gallery watching those takeoffs.

i'd buy one again, but i'd fit a more efficient ( and $$$) thr

This is a really BIG jet! I installed a Mercury 90 EDF on 8s. T/O roll is short; not more than 50'. The climb rate is more than adequate. The Mig is not very fast but is very stable. Flies like it is on rails! The roll rate is surprisingly slow. I have lots of aileron and even rudder doesn't improve it. Landing is a breeze. The Mig is a real "floater" and slows to a walk on approach. It goes together with no drama. but there are some weak points. I beefed up the wing by adding CF spars(4) and some ply as well. I installed electronic retracts but used the included wheels and struts. All in all a great plane a real value.

the cg on this aircraft is wrong so i moved the edf fan unit forward175mm cut away some fome for edf to fit and make a chanal out of plastick 180mm long, 90mm that will give you the right cg.
