As others have said, Yellow are softer, black match the set that comes with the car and red give you more stiffness. If your car is not siting high enough after your batteries are in and you've done the best you could with shock oil change, the red springs will help raise and keep the car higher off the ground.

I use the red (of course) on my sabertooth
