What is S.BUS?
Different from conventional radio control systems the S.BUS system uses data communication to transmit control signals from a receiver to a servo, gyro, or other S.BUS compatible device. This data includes commands such as “move the channel 3 servo to 15 degrees, move the channel 5 servo to 30 degrees” to multiple devices. The S.BUS devices execute only those commands for their own set channel. For this reason, it can be used by connecting multiple servos to the same signal line.

I agree with other comments that one of the channels is reversed and is a bit confusing to hook up. Shame it doesn't come with some sort of instruction sheet, I will be using it as a 3 channel glider receiver. I've used channel 3 as the 3S battery feed & an easy bind. Will see how it works in the air

Great receiver with s-bus, but be aware
I use this receiver, both 1 and 2-antenna versions in 450 FBL-helis with excellent result. I have ESC and a s-bus-cable connected to receiver.
The s-bus cable goes to the FBL-gyro. Simple and safe cabling!
But
The lable does not help in how to connect the cables to the receiver.
Missing information: Ground (black or brown) is towards the middle for all 4 connectors.
Wrong information: Ch1 and Ch2 are interchanged on the lable. I use Ch1 in my transmitter for throttle. If I connect the ESC to the connector labled Ch2 on this receiver it works just as it should.
Also missing information: Ch1 is on a top connector (lable side), s-bus is on a bottom connector.
Hundreds of flights and never failed! :)
I have used Tgy-9XR with Orange DSM-module and Taranis with DSM-module.
Both work just as they should. :)

I picked up a handful of these at nearly 25pcnt of the list price (on sale).

First thing's first, all of the signal wires go outward. This looks wierd once plugged in, but it is what it is.

Next up, the channels are not in the same order as they are for Spektrum or the 6ch ORX receivers. Channel #1 is Aileron, #2 is Throttle and #3 is Elevator.

These are about 2/3 the size and 1/2 the thickness of the R615X.

I'll put a pair of these in the air tomorrow!

I purchased this due to the ability to connect to SBUS, which is especially useful when device like flight controlers make use of this standard. The reason I provide such a poor score is due the lack of ANY markings on the case to show signal or gnd/vcc. Yes, the what can vaguley be called manual show the correct rail description. And it would have not cost a cent more when the master mould for the platic case was being prepared to add a " " and "s".

Channel order on this receiver's S-Bus does not match Futaba's, so any device that expects Futaba ordering and doesn't have an option to remap channels can't use this receiver if it needs more than the three discrete channels. Thus far, that list includes at least the CYE TG-Multi and the DJI Naza-H.

This is a very small receiver that punches well above it weight. The 3 channel setup is nice but the receiver come alive when you use the S Bus. This lets you have many more channels and is still very new tech. Also if you just want a 4 channel you can buy one S Bus servo and plug only one into the S Bus giving you 4 channels.

I tried to use this on a flying wing with elevon set up and it was not able to port enough power when I made quick full deflections. I tried the 8 channel big brother and it worked fine. These 3 channel receivers may be OK for trainers - elevator/aileron/throttle but they can't handle ELEVON and quick stick movement - they blink off and loose the conection for 1/8th of a second. I bought 3,tested 2 with ELEVON and saw the same effect. Don't buy these if you want to fly Vtail or ELEVON mixing - too much current draw I guess.
