There is always something about a large Bi-plane that appeals to RC pilots, they have real presence on the ground and a certain elegance in the air that is hard to match, this amazing large scale Pitts 12 is so impressive and you have to look really hard to tell that it is a foamy!

Of course it isn't any old foam, it's highly compressed EPO which not only gives the Pitts an almost balsa model look, it also means that it's as tough as old boots! There are so many impressive features on this stunning bipe, the under-carriage is heavy duty, full size servo's are pre-fitted for the rudder and elevator, the scale detail, the whopping 3 blade scale prop and spinner, the pre-fitted and very powerful brushless outrunner, the list goes on! The Pitts is easy enough to build and all hardware is included, you will need to add your own ESC & Lipoly to get into the air with this amazing looking aerobatic Bi-Plane.

The Pitts features huge wing joiners/tubes and fast assemble wing and tailplane rigging, once assembled it is very ridgid and it needs to be, this is a very capable aerobatic model! Power from the huge outrunner on 6s is really impressive and coupled with the amazing looks and performance of this huge foam Pitts 12, this is a model that will provide the RC pilot with a truly memorable days flying very time it goes to the field!

Plane came very well packed and I am addressing all the issues brought up by earlier flyers. Have not maiden the plane yet as I am switching the aileron servos. If you decide to change the servos, beware two of the servos (not sure top of bottom) are reversed. So make sure you get the orientation correct. Yes the instructions are horrible to say the least. I had some screws missing and have to search like crazy for them. Dry fit the whole wing assembly before gluing anything to make sure you have the right pieces in the right place. There is no indication on the parts themselves especially the wing strut holding bracket.

Overall great looking plane. Waiting to good weather to maiden this plane.

Great Flying Plane. As with most planes, some modifications are needed. This biplane has one important modification that is needed before even flying. The front cowling is foam and is only held in place with magnets. The magnets are not strong enough to hold cowling in place which results in the cowling coming off fuselage because of the turbulence from the prop and results in the cowling getting chopped up by the propeller and possibly breaking your prop as well. Other than that, I have had a dozen flights on stock motor and she flies great. One other issue I forgot to mention is that there are no replaceable parts that are available for this plane. Because I can make my own parts, this issue didn't deter me from buying this plane and by no means do i regret it.

This is a Great plane! It's maiden flight was perfect, no surprises just a few clicks of trim and she flew great. The maiden setup: CG as stated in manual toward the nose heavy side. I installed a 125A redbrick esc, CC 10amp BEC used a 6s 5000amh lipo. I did replace all the servos with ones I trust. I used digital 12g metal gear servos for the ailerons and full size hitechs with heavy duty arms for rudder and elevator, those heavy duty arms give plenty of throw. The upper wing I cut in normal not reversed servos Also as I read all those warnings in multiple postings I secured the cowling and hatch to the fuselage(very important todo). Not too much in mods for a foamy. Very pleased with the out of box plane, it's a keeper, even with the few mods. I say out of box because I have yet to buy a plane that did'nt need some type of mod to make it reliable in my own mind.
With this setup I'm getting 8 min flights pattern flying 4 to 5 min flights of mild 3d flying and yes this bird will hover.
It is big. Had to figure a plan to make the wings easier to put on and remove for transport. First I did away with the self tapping screws using 2mx12m hex head bolts with locking nuts (do not use locktite it will desovle the plastic) for the fuselage struts and 2mx14m for outer wing struts. You will have to enlarge the bolt holes. I leave the outer wing struts bolted to the lower wing also I l

I bought this bip to go with a electric club I'm in ,it came boxed well putting it together was quit easy except a couple of wrong parts sent but a few modellers adjustments all went together in the end I used a 125 amp red brick esc and a zippy 6s 5000 mah lipo , to get the c of g I added a few ounces of lead right up front and put the battery as far forwould as it would go this gave me perfect c of g for me, I then took out to Tarmac runway it took of in a short distance I put a couple of clicks into the ailerons and it flew straight and true rolled and looped on test flight everything worked great then to the landing brought it into a slight breeze it came in much slower than I thought it would throttled off as she came down to two feet off the ground a little throttle and touch down real gentle,then took to grass field for 2nd flight all as first flight except landing came in great but wheels dug in to soft grass and flipped it over no damage ,so if you have soft field as norm take off spats and put on bigger wheels and away you go, finally this is a great biplane if you ever fancied one get this one set it up for six cell and you cannot fault it ,Nice One Hobbyking , great plane.

I bought this bi-plane as a gift to myself. i have flown a couple of bi-planes and always liked their look in the air.
Bi-Planes tend to be a bit tricky to fly. quite sensitive, i was hoping that this being a larger model than my other bi-planes it would be more stable. This is also my 4th epo model from HK. I have read quite a lot about this model in different forums with mostly positive reviews and a few concerns. Here are my findings;

1st this model gives the impression of a much larger model. Im not sure of the scale but working comparing the wing span with the full size i think it is between 1/3 and 1/4 scale. It looks great in the air as well as on the ground. for the money it represents good value for its size. Talking of size you will need a large car or van to transport, unless you take the main wings off, which would be a lot of work. I have an Audi A6 and it fits in this by taking the rear wing off. This is quite easy and quick. 2 bolts 2 springs and uncouple the servo horns.

2nd power yes it has loads of power. model weighs in at 5kg with my set up. 6s 5000mah battery. 2000watts and 100amps. I have had 4 flights so far and i am just trying to get the cg spot on. i started with the cg as per instructions but found i needed down trim as the model pitch up a bit. i have been moving the battery back bit by bit and it is almost there.

3rd quality. the model is very go

I've decided to get this airplane after all. I also invested in some MasterAirscrew 16x10x3 props and a Turnigy NTM Series 50-60 380kv motor and prop adapters which I will adapt for use should I have a mishap and need spares. Can't wait for it to arrive!

Well I wanted this airplane and yanked out my VISA and bought it today. 4-hours later, I cancelled the order as I found out no parts are available for it. That really sucks cause it seems to be a pretty nice bird, and I been in this hobby too long to know that it's just a matter of time till break something!
