Looking for something a little more high end to tear up your local slope? Then this model is what you are looking for!

Produced from CAD designed and CNC generated moulds, this sailplane was designed with a wide range of possible flyers in mind - from novice to expert.

Featuring fully hollow moulded fibreglass, carbon and Kevlar construction, this glider is an extremely stiff yet light  airframe!

Advanced pilots will recognize the availability of crow braking, fullspan camber adjustment and snap flap for extremely quick reversals on the slope. The Sunbird packs a 'full house' glider into a 1520mm affordable, fully moulded, high performance package - and she looks fantastic!

Designed it to be very transportable – disassembled it can fit on a car parcel shelf, so it is very convenient to carry around, but at the same time we wanted an airframe that in expert hands could really perform.

The aerofoil section gives a very wide speed range and possibility of operation in a wide range of wind conditions - The kit includes a carbon ballast tube for loading her up for those heavy slope days!

The models fuselage, wing and control surfaces are beatuifully finished and painted in mould. All control surfaces are fully live hinged and have their wipers pre-installed, all of the control horns are located through the upper wing surface - very clean and leaving nothing to snag on the ground. Her wing joiner is solid square carbon fibe - strong in an understatement! Her elevator is of the all flying type and is a plug in affair with the bellcrank pre-installed, also pre-installed are the carbon pushrods - all very, very nice!

Not forgetting the fuselage of course, which has plenty of carbon reinforcement, the nose section being 2.4 ghz friendly Kevlar with carbon reinforcement in high stress areas. The radio bay is large enough to enable installation of your radio system without fuss. The aileron and flap servos are located in the wings and their mounting areas are reinforced with a layer of carbon, the streamlined servo covers are very clean fitting to reduce parasitic drag.

All required hardware is included with the kit.

Flight testing has revealed a very good turn of speed, high maneuverability, no bad habits, and very controllable landing characteristics.

The first time you hear her whistle past - as only 'mouldies' can - you won't stop smiling!

Wing span: 1520mm

This is the go to glider for just about everything. It handles 15 to 30 mph wind w/o ballast, it's fast, it's fun, it screams like a banshee. The build instructions can be found online. Plus it gets cheaper the longer you look at it :).

Great glider for people who want their 1st glass glider.
Mild wing aerofoil section for medium to strong winds.
Big flaps for very slow landings[with a bit of crow too-even better]
Manual says C of G 65-75mm[apx 130g of lead in nose].
BUT you can saftly reduce the lead to apx 90gto get a C of G of 80-85mm.
Still recovers from dive test and the stall is more gentle.
People new to glass gliders will stall this glider a bit at first until they get used to looking at the speed of the glider.
Best to test fly in apx 15kt winds first until you get used to it.

Fantastic 60" Sloper. Took mine to Soar Utah 2014 for maiden flight. Flies in lighter wind well, really sings to you in bigger wind or big dives. Good instructions for build and setup can be found online. All in all a fun plane that's very well built and is a great value but most of all it's a blast to fly.

Absolutely stunning. A work of art. The build quality is flawless and the value is incredible. I don't have anything else to say but this review was apparently too short so I'll repeat myself. Absolutely stunning. A work of art. The build quality is flawless and the value is incredible.

Well I just took delivery of a Sunbird. It is very good value for money at the price I paid 166 inc delivery. It comes double boxed, both are heavy duty. Quality is excellent, blemish free. There is a lot of carbon in this plane. I think the whole of the wing upper panel is carbon and there is much more than expected in the fuselage so much so that I suspect I may need a carbon friendly RX.

I Love this Sunbird from RCRCM. It flies awesome with an incredible speed Range. Use ing camber gently you can sail Theramals. This is a fast an agile allroundr that loves to be pushed. Be careful with the COG. The Wings are stiff like morning wood. :) But be careful with the Strength of the Fuselage. Sometimes you get a model where the two halfs of the Fuselage are glued together really bad. For sure it is hard to get them together when a Tail is so damn thin like the pinkie.

Well, I saw this buy as a complete gamble, but possibly worth it due to the low price. I have mostly moulded gliders of all sizes, and previous experiences with RCRCM gliders have not been so-so. My Sunbird (for this is what it is) turned out to be outstanding in terms of build, finish and the fit of the parts: very pleased!

First flight at Hanstholm today. The model is a real winner. Put cg afterwards, 5 mm and she will do everything you ask for!

This is a pre-review of the parts in the KIT .

First quality moulding ,paint and craftmanship.

Only complys are the metal quicklinks that are a little on the crappy side , and the instructions that are VERY BRIEF (do not even state the CG position and the deflection of all the control surfaces).

Raw weights of each of the components as they arrive in the box are :

Elevators(2)plusJoiners(2)=36gr.

Right Wing (no covers) =190gr.

Left Wing (no covers) =196gr.

Fuselage with cabin = 153gr.

Wing carbon joiner = 41gr.

Balast tubepluswing coversplussmall parts =50gr.

TOTAL = 669gr.

Will do one review of the building and another of the flight.
