Turnigy SK3 brushless motors are yet another step forward in motor evolution.

Once again we instructed our engineers to develop a motor that would not only rival but surpass the quality of the leading motors on the market today using the best quality magnets, bearings, and materials available.

The result is an outstanding series of motors that are efficient, strong, and robust enough for the most discerning modeler.

All of the SK3 series use quality double-shielded bearings, sintered neodymium magnets (the strongest type of permanent magnet commercially available), and a string wound stator to ensure accurate and consistent winding each and every time.

The Turnigy SK3 motors are suited to modelers who are seeking a top-quality brushless motor without compromise.

Features:
• Double shielded bearings
• Sintered neodymium magnets
• String wound stator

Mighty Fine Electric Motor

May 02, 2021

I have 5 of these motors in use in my RC inventory and they all perform flawlessly. I recommend them to anyone wanting a motor of this size. They're powerful!

A Very Good Motor!

Jan 13, 2020

I own 4 of these motors and they all perform exceptionally well. They can easily be adapted to mounting inside a cowling by reversing the prop shaft. I've done it successfully to 3 of the 4 motors I'm running. I suggest that you also purchase some replacement prop shafts if they're available. You never know when a mistake in judgement will cause a hard landing that bends the prop shaft. I don't think you'll find a better motor for the price.

Powerful Motor

Nov 27, 2019

I have three of these motors and they all perform quite well. Someone stated that this motor makes a lot of noise - so what! It's a big powerful motor - what would you expect. I have them in 94" wingspan sailplanes and they perform admirably - recommend them to anyone in the market.

Noisy Motor!

Jun 07, 2018

I bought this motor expecting it to be extremely quiet. That's not the case. At close to idle speed it makes a terrible screeching sound but only at very slow speed. I checked the bearings and they seem to be OK. ESC motor timing is set to AUTO so I don't think that's causing the noise. I haven't yet flown the sailplane the motor is installed in but I hope the noise doesn't develop into a bigger problem.

Hi RC Friends. Just a heads up before you buy one of these excellent motors.

After about 15 to 20 flights varying from 2mins to 5.30mins on a 4cell Zippy 2650 25C battery I noticed a change in the 'noise' coming from the motor which normally ran very quietly.
On stripping it down I found the 2 front bearings were worn out completely, very gritty, and the rear bearing was still smooth. This was exactly the same with my previous 3548-1050kv motor with much less flight time. I can only say that the Tgy blog regarding the excellence of these bearings is false and at the least, very misleading. I have had to replace these bearings which cost about $8 to $10 each at my local brg shop. Most annoying. I suggest all who buy this motor/s should change the front 2 bearings before flying. It's easy to do. Remove the rear collet and simply pull the rotor from the stator. Be careful when assembling as the magnets are strong and can pinch you fingers as it snaps together. Prevent this by holding each part firmly and bring together slowly.
The bearing size is: 8mm O/D x 5mm I/D x 2.5mm wide with metal seals both sides.
Turnigy should review the dubious quality of these small bearings.
Both motors have been used in my control line stunt Oriental weighing 1.5Kg and flys well, pulling 380W, 24A, 40deg C. 55mph on a 10x6 APC-E prop.
