Turnigy SK3 Motors are the next leap forward in motor quality and design. We instructed the engineers to source the best quality magnets, bearings, and materials available to them and develop a motor that would not only rival but surpasses the quality of many leading motor manufacturers on the market today.

The result is an efficient, high caliber motor using quality double shielded bearings, sintered Neodymium magnets, and a string wound stator ensuring an accurate and consistent winding each and every time.

The Turnigy SK3 motors are suited to modelers who are seeking a quality brushless motor without compromise.

Kv Lower than 740

Dec 18, 2020

This motor was recommended to me by Hobby King technical support, as was the propeller for my Kingcraft Pitts Special S2-B. This was the first electric powered ARF I bought, so I depended on HK to recommend the right motor/prop. The motor was not a good match for the prop because the Kv was more like 695 instead of their published 740. Spinning the motor with my drill press at a known RPM and measuring RMS then converting to Peak to Peak revealed this. Also, my all-up weight for the Pitts ended up being 3120 grams. Pretty close to 7 lbs. I've since learned that for an aerobatic airplane, you want roughly a minimum of 100 Watts/lb. I was only measuring 620 - 650 Watts. The best performance was with a 14x7 prop. Even then, I could barely pull through a simple loop. Maybe a larger PropDrive motor would be a better selection. I paid only $38, but not a good value in my opinion. The Pitts Special is not a .46-size aircraft, but rather a .60-size. Choose your motor appropriately.

All of the SK3 series motors that I have tried were excellent, with the exception of one motor that had a defective prop adaptor. I have purchased and flown at least 60 to 75 SK3 motors. I build about 20-25 planes a year. Many of my own design. All of my planes receive an SK3 motor. By far the best motor for the price anywhere.

Un moteur fiable et bien fini

Jun 14, 2020
