Turnigy Servoless Actuator for Gear Door (90-120 size) -  Lightweight servoless unit that is suited to both electronic servoless and air retract systems, can be operated via the Turnigy Retract/Gear Door sequencer (see related items below) for almost any configuration, comes with 2mm pushrod/ball-link (can be changed for different lengths if required) and 360 degree alloy mounting brackets.

purchased two units both worked well . After a few operations the one unit just stopped working . Opened unit but could not find the problem. I am using the units for gear doors.If they prove to be reliable they will be excellent. I have ordered two more units. There was no lubrication on the tiny gearbox on the unit I opened. I am using the units through the Turnigy gear sequencer with a LIFE6.6 volt battery.

I have bought this item but didn't use it yet, not sure where I can use this item, I have to think about it, may be hatch door for dropping something from my model aircraft.

I received mine. I ordered 4 of these. I was impressed with it until I tested one.
It was working, approximately a dozen "open / closes". all of the sudden, in closed position, it wouldn't open. I openned the unit to see what went wrong. There are 2 spring loaded type of switches at both ends. these swithes the limit swithces. one of the swithces (in closed position), got stuck. in this position the motor wouldn't turn. not sure what to do with 3 units I have. definitely not using them for gear door actuation due to reliability. I would however use them on other things that would not hurt my model.

Good, strong and well built, but not well suited to u/c doors cos they have a slight backlash at each end of travel i.e. will pull door fully closed then back open very slightly.
Could be worked around by having some small flexibility in the door horn I guess, but not ideal in the scenario where a good, strong door closed position is required to prevent them being sucked open in some manoeuvres.

Glad I ordered two when I needed only one. One works fine out of the box. The second tries to move as you switch it from one direction to the other. You can feel the motor kick then jam. Doesn't seem to be any way to un-jam it and costs too much to return for warranty. In the future, I'll remember to order several more than I need. Hope the one that works doesn't die in the air........



The push rod is a bit weak, but works. the fitting on the end works fine on a hinge. Overall, great design with a lot of potential. Then need to expand from 15 mm stroke to 20, 25 or even 30 in the future.

Nice unit comes with all hardware pictured to use straight away. Can't find a listing for alternate lentgh pushrods. Would be good if longer throws were availiable. Have two for nose gear doors in a VQ Invader.

I have bought three of these units and two have failed. I was using them for gear door actuators in a jet using a 6v system. I lost the two failed units at switch on of the power system. I suspect that a spike when first switched on caused the failures. I wil test the other one in a 5 volt system and see if the problem re-occurs.
