I purchased this item and it was great for a very short time. The motor was crazy fast and powerful. Car was easier to drive once I turned down the esc timing. Smooth and responsive on high punch setting. Unfortunately, after 5 runs, the internal BEC failed on the ESC and nothing worked. A replacement was sent out under warranty and it had the same fault. I love HK products, however this esc needs improvement. HK would only provide a refund for the ESC and not the motor as the ESC was the only faulty product. Now I am left with a motor I cannot use.

I was very unsure about this motor combo before purchasing it due to all the negative feedback on the internet, but I must say worked straight out to box with no issues and believe me its fast for such a cheap combo.

Super fast motor and good torque. in my truck with 2s buttery esc and motor do not overheat. the main problems are the cable that heat too much.

Works perfectly so far in my new Quanum Vandal.
Good that I got the program box along with it.

Had to figure out how to do the config with the
button at the power switch, keep it pressed and
turn it on on etc. Then teach it full forward, full
reverse and neutral ... can't remember in which
order, tried several times till I got it right.

The limits for forward and reverse seem to be
percentage power used for forward and percentage
unused for reverse. For example, to limit forward
power to 40pcnt set to 40pcnt, to limit reverse power to
10pcnt set to 90pcnt. This is what I figured out.

On my Vandal the fan case touches the body and
amplifies the noise.

Mine came without any connectors on the battery leads.

Running this set up in a Traxxas rustler with a 25t 48p pinion and an 83t 48p slipper spur On 2s. Lots of power to kick up a rooster tail in all kinds of track medium. Crazy fast for 2s and moderate temps after a 4000mah 30c pack. Definately get the the programming box for waterproof trackstar set ups. It makes them come alive!! I recommend it! I have ran about 25 packs thru it, and still going strong!!

I bought two of these combos, and they simply do not work. As the majority of written comments by saying that this combo does not work, I suggest you buy another combo or another brand.

This set has a bad reputation and I can't understand why! I installed it in my Traxxas Monster Jam 1/10 (Stampede VXL 2wd) and it screams down my road at 60 mph! Right out of the box hooked up to my stock Traxxas Rx it ran fine. I did purchase the programming card and have adjusted the settings to make it run right next to my Slash 4x4 with the velineon setup on 2s. I haven't put a 3s to it and I really doubt I ever will. Even with a gyro it launches my 'pede at uncontrollable speeds if I want. It's been going for close to 2 weeks of 2-3x a day of HARD use and it only gets slightly warm. I LOVE IT! Recommend to anyone!

Very poor.
look at this set on youtube...
And you will see nothing but fail fail fail...
My esc burned after 30sec. only with 2s 5000mah lipo.Never got to drive it, the resistor just vent up in smoke with big "bang" and the esc died instantly...
Had to wait a long time to get a refund, doing videos, pictures aso for customer support... Shipping money was lost to..
So my advise: DONT BUY !!! You will waste your money !!!
