XRAY XB9E 1/8th Scale Electric Buggy (Kit)

Juraj Hudy, XRAY Engineering and Racing Teams have conceptualized and built the XB9E as the next evolution of the XRAY off-road concept. Transforming the successful XB9 nitro platform into the electric powered XB9E.

Featuring superior balance and weight distribution, the easy-to-control handling of the XB9E is ready to set a new standard in the 1/8 electric powered class. The chassis is CNC-machined from high-quality Swiss 3mm 7075 T6 aluminum, which is strategically machined in low-stress areas to make it as light as possible without affecting strength or rigidity. The tough composite side guards offer side protection and fit perfectly to seal against dirt.

The focus of the XB9E design was to centralize the the weight of electronic and transmission components for a better balanced vehicle. The XB9E's motor mount is designed to allow easy gear mesh adjustments and is 2mm wider compared to older versions for improved durability. The XB9E includes an all-new composite battery holder with higher barriers that eliminate any movement of the batteries.

XB9E constant velocity drives (CVDs) are manufactured HUDY Spring Steel™ and are some of the world's thinnest, yet most durable drive shafts used in off-road cars today. The center outdrives feature protective rubber boots, thick 3mm pins, and a protective locking ring.

Correct suspension geometry is one of the most important features of any RC model car yet at the same time is also one of the most difficult and challenging features for a designer. From the suspension arms, through the suspension blocks, to the light, yet robust steering blocks, every suspension part has been specially designed for the 1/8 off-road racing platform.

Using eccentric suspension bushings, which are inserted into aluminum suspension blocks, as well as use of suspension shims, the XB9E suspension geometry can be completely adjusted. This includes caster, camber, toe-in, roll center, front kick-up, rear anti-squat, wheelbase, and track width adjustment.

The XB9E steering blocks are super-lightweight composite zero kingpin design which features an inset aluminum bushing that is molded into the steering block itself. This ensures a lightweight, precise and durable steering block assembly. They have an increased steering angle for improved steering and a new Ackermann position which provides improved corner speed.

The XB9E has oversized big-bore shocks with 18.5mm outside diameter hard coated shock bodies, externally threaded with an adjustable collar for quick and easy adjustment. The lower shock nut gives superior shock shaft centering. The longer shock shafts and shock collars combine to give increased downtravel.
