After the success of the original H-King FLYCAT 70mm EDF jet, which was a basic aileron, elevator, and throttle-only model, we now have the FLYCAT V2. This new version has an upgraded power setup with a brushless inrunner motor and Aerostar RVS G2 ESC, twin rudders, a set of pre-installed electronic retracts, and a brand-new high-viz color scheme. It retains from the V1 its stunning streamlined looks, agility, performance, and impeccable flying characteristics.
With a new more powerful setup, the 2860-2100KV brushless inrunner motor and the 12-blade EDF unit make the FLYCAT V2 not only quite a bit faster, but it improves the verticals and it also sounds amazing, just like a real turbine, especially when doing fast, high-speed passes. Coupled with the motor and EDF unit is one of our Aerostar 80A RVS G2 speed controllers, this not only gives you solid reliability, it also offers you the choice of instant reverse. If you are flying from a hard runway this helps shorten the landing run quite considerably when selected after touchdown. Another feature of the FLYCAT V2 is the twin-rudders, these bring in another dimension when flying the V2. It is now able to perform even more jet-like maneuvers including falling leaves and knife-edge, etc, and they also help in the approach to landing and when flying at slower speeds. The new high-viz color scheme not only looks great, but it stands out well in the sky which helps orientation when flying big, fast aerobatic maneuvers. Last but not least on the V2 there is no need for hand-launching, it comes with a set of pre-installed grass-capable electronic retracts. These robust and reliable retracts enable smooth take-offs and landings on hard and grass runways.
The FLYCAT V2 is made of strong EPO so it will take a few hard knocks and bangs, it is also supplied as a Plug-N-Fly model. This means it comes with the motor, fan unit, and retracts pre-installed at the factory. It also comes with 6 x 9g high-quality, high-speed servos pre-installed (metal-geared on the nosewheel) to ensure you complete all those extreme, and fast jet-like maneuvers with reliability and peace of mind. It is a relatively easy build with a low parts count either being screwed or glued together. It is a one-piece model when it is built, but if required, the wing tips can be removed for transport. The big magnetically held canopy/hatch cover provides easy access to the receiver and battery bay, and there is room for a 3000~4000mAh 6S battery.
