Durafly has released another fantastic version of their popular EDF RC jet to date, the fantastic D.H.100 Vampire Mk6. We added some new improvements and finished with a striking new scheme. This version of the Durafly Vampire is finished in the scheme of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) colors. This scheme was selected for its history and for orientation when flying. The RCAF obtained their Vampires in late 1948 and they were an instant hit with the RCAF aircrew and pilots. Being their Air Force's first-ever jet fighter, the Vampire had an outstanding performance and graceful lines just like the Durafly RC electronic ducted fan version.

Although the initial version of the Vampire was a very stable flier Durafly has tightened up the tail booms and elevator with carbon fiber support to give even better control. With the change to the RCAF colors, the silver scheme has been “dulled” to give a more realistic color and the plane also has a smoother finish with cleaner panel lines. Under the hatch, the Vampire has been updated with an AeroStar 60A ESC with a built-in BEC (rather than the separate ESC and BEC) and an upgraded 2836 3300KV brushless motor to provide more performance and efficiency.

The Durafly Vampire is made from tough EPO foam and is superbly finished with waterslide decals. As well as looking the part, it is easy to assemble as a Plug N Fly model. The EDF unit, ESC, and servos are all pre-installed. The Vampire is pre-fitted with superb, scale-slow metal trunnion servo-less retracts. They have a very positive lock which combined with the beefy struts and large rubber wheels make this jet perfect for almost any field.

Jets are about performance and the Durafly Vampire "Canadian Edition" will not disappoint. It has excellent speed and climb rate, when you combine this performance with the real presence of this model (not to mention the uncanny scale-like sound) the end result is one of the most realistic jets in this class. Where the Vampire differs from other scale jets is its wide flight envelope, fast flybys, big loops, aerobatics, and slow stall speed combine to give you a very forgiving model that is great to fly fast just like the original 1950s first-generation jet warbird.

Fast, stable, reliable, easy to fly, and with a presence in spades, the Durafly D.H 100 Vampire "Canadain Edition" will stand out at any airfield and is ideal for aspiring jet jockeys. A must for any jet fan!

Fun-tastic little EDF

Apr 18, 2022

I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews on this Vampire. I've bought 3 of them and can tell you from my experience, it is a fantastic little EDF and remarkably cheap to buy. It is not a $500 edf, and it does not have advanced features that you might expect from a more expensive jet. But for what it is, it is 100% fun to fly! It can fly respectably fast, and yet will glide power off, and even thermal if conditions are right. The 5 blade fan is quiet, and perfectly sized for this jet. It will takeoff from grass - once the nose wheel mounting plate is anchored to the foam more securely. Landing on grass risks bending the gear (one of the tradeoffs for a value priced edf), so I just belly it in. It handles hard surface runways well. Up in the air, it is fun to toss around, fly fast, or fly slow, the lack of rudders will limit some acrobatic moves, but it is a joy to fly!
The airframe is a little flexible, but this does not hinder its flying performance. It is not a Carbon Z, and it is not priced like one, either. Keep your expectations realistic.....it is a fantastic value for the small price you pay, Fly it, and have fun!!

Vampire Jet

Feb 19, 2022

Plane is poor quality compared to other jets of the same caliber. Assembled exactly as instructions stated including CG location. After first flight and the immediate crash it was brought to my attention that the CG stayed in the manual is INCORRECT! I’ve tried to submit email to vendor about this plane although it gets into a undeliverable cycle and does not get submitted. Stay away from the jet.... pure waste of money!

Kit not complete

Feb 15, 2022

When I started to assemble this module, I was very disappointed. Step 1 , glue the pilot into the cockpit.I didn’t receive a “pilot”! So as the kit is not complete I am not satisfied with this purchase

Best Buy ever, maximum fun compared to the costs.

Jan 25, 2022

We fly with over twenty of these birds at our field, The record of together at once in the air is 14 and we are working on more this year. I fly mine very often and since august 2018, unbelievable what the bird went trough, hard landings and a crash our two......thanks to glue and reinforcement wih wood and carbon strips, the bird flies as new, and the retracts are still working fine. Every flight is a 4 minute joy. The plane is my side kick and the best buy ever. No other plane gives me more fun to the euro then this one, yet WW2 prop figthers is my first choice. If you can handle it, the Vampire is a must, I have one in spare, ....just in case :-)
