The DH.110 Sea Vixen was an all weather fighter/ground attack aircraft with a very distinctive and unusual cockpit arrangement, the pilot's cockpit being offset and the observer sitting in the infamous "coal hole" which was virtually blacked out and very cramped. The design actually dates back to the 1940's, which is pretty remarkable considering the fact that the DH.110 prototype was the first two seat aircraft to achieve supersonic flight. However, once re-designed for carrier landings, the new thick wing prevented the Sea Vixen from achieving supersonic flight despite the huge amount of power from the twin Rolls Royce engines.

The Sea Vixen is made from tough EPO foam and is beautifully finished with waterslide decals. As well as looking the part, it is easy to assemble and setup. Being in ARF (almost ready to fly) form, this version includes the EDF fan unit, landing struts and no electronics. You will need to add your own motor, ESC, servos and electronic retracts.

Jets are about performance and the Durafly® ™ Sea Vixen is no exception. It handles superbly, tracks well, offers a nice turn of speed at WOT and has excellent slow flight capability thanks to the massive amount of wing area. When you combine this performance with the real presence and ultra-scale detail, the end result is a brilliant model that will satisfy jet enthusiasts and scale pilots alike. The DH.110 even comes complete with optional high-detail drop tanks and ordinance.

Fast, stable, reliable, easy to fly and dripping in scale details, the Durafly® ™ Sea Vixen will be a real show stopper at any airfield!

Very well put together, although you will need many coats of resin, such as eze kote on the fuselage to protect the foam. A good size for a 70mm motor model. Bin the glue included and use epoxy. Pay special attention to the two booms, which are the weak point, so plenty of Coates of resin there. The butt glued wings are fine and don't need strengthening. I just purchased the airframe and used the excellent alloy HK DPS 70mm lightweight alloy fan unit. Together with HK blue 80A ESC and the standard Turingy 3300 4S battery, the performance is really good with 6 mins to 25pcnt. One point to take care of is the C of G, if you do it by the book, make sure that the elevator is neutral if hand launching. Any up on the trim will result in pitch up on launch. Expect to trim in up to 5 clicks down for normal flying after hand launch.

Build this kit with spare parts I allready had.
Used 3 dig. Servo's from HK 9 gram, at this moment I use a turnigy 2836/3700kv motor.I have to be carefull with throttle puls around 70 amps with a 4s4000 lipo.
Lies hlf throttle flying time around 6-7 minutes. I handlaunch because no LG installed but is easy to do and landing is a peace of cake, she floats fore ever. Very nice plane and good flying performance. Build is easy takes around 2 hours. Enjoying this plane.
Test flight done 12 nov 2013 went pefectly cok9leted 3 flights no issues.

Great plane easy to put together i recommend the RTF if you ever wanna try retracts. I'm running the 4S 3850mah 10Blade 3000kv sound and flies great pulls 1250watts 85amps . I ordered some carbon fiber to reinforce the tail booms.

Excellent packing! Beautiful plane.

I used a CS 10 blade with a Turnigy 2855 2100kv on 5s.

The take off run is a bit long but she goes to the air in a realistic way, without jump.

She looks amazing on the air. My setup is good enough for relaxed flying. I plan to use 6s in the future to improve the speed.

Landing is a piece of cake.

Well done HK!

Delivered complete, no parts missing and with absolutely zero damage! And even better - the markings are applied perfectly! No blistering of the decals whatsoever, so no need to repaint this one!
The fit of parts is excellent with nothing out of line.
Will be converting this so it has rudders. Servo in each fin will do the trick. To compensate for the weight added, I will remove what I assume is a large lump of metal from horizontal stabiliser, as that part is very heavy. Will replace it with a carbon spar and can then also up the battery pack size.
All in all, this is an excellent kit considering the price!
