One wicked little plane with the right mods

Mar 15, 2017

Great little plane for the bucks. I had a heck of a time getting mine to balance properly though. Eventually i resorted to installing a 3542 1450kv turnigy motor and an 8x8 apc prop. Now it is fpv only! I dont know how fast it is but its out of sight in a second or so! Handles like its on rails and with 20% flaperon mix actually lands pretty easy for as small and heavy as it is. All in all i bought 2 spares jjst in case. I wish they would bring back the mxs-r and extra so i could get the whole collection.

Definitely not a beginner plane, can take a lot of speed (my onboard gps tells me over 150km/h on 4S with a 28-36 1800kv and the kit prop) and very nervous with high roll rate capability.
Had to use a lot of expo and lower the rates to calm things down but once this is done this is a really pleasant plane to fly.

By default it doesn't like to fly too slow (stall very quickly) but if you use flaperon function(watch your radio manual) it act almost as a glider, making it lot easier to land (as is it is not significantly harder to land than my Bix3)

Had some tough landings with only little cosmetic damages so i think this thing is pretty resistant.

Landing gears are useless unless you got a real flat road/runway to takeoff/land from, and anyway it fly better without them.

What a great little machine this is! Flies well, is pretty fast, looks good, easy to build and a real tough one. Undercarriage is something to forget on grass, might be useful on some smooth surface, but can't have much. It reminded me of my PZ Extra 300, but even a bit more fun. Don't think this is a 3D plane, this is a racer with a lot of aerobatic skills. Though high wing load definitely not for beginners. Fly it fast and land it fast.

Ok, with 40 flights on it (yes im compulsive) i can give a fair review: Pros: Once in the air, its everything you want in a sport plane. Its powerful, tracks well, and had decent flight times. Foam is VERY durable, and you're gonna need it. Cons: has to land fairly quick, so not really a parkflyer. Takes 100 meters to stop rolling when it lands! Motor mount is ****. Mold a firewall from ply and mount to that. A gyro with aileron is your friend. Any crosswind or turbulence makes this plane a handful. The landing gear is ****. A good replacement is the hobbyzone cub gear with diy ply base, ditch the black plastic. Overall, it flies well, but will frustrate the **** outta you. Out of 40 flights, only TWICE have i been able to swap the battery and turn it without FIXING SOMETHING. The foam holds up, your patience might not. Its ALWAYS SOMETHING, and it sucks the fun out of flying it.

Flies well fast, for slow flights go a different route. This is a point and fly plane. It has enough glide for landing as long as u keep a little motor until tbe last foot or two. I have crashed it four times, and as long you belly crash it'll stay together. I keep the gear on as a "crash pillow" lol.

nice looker but flies terribly, crap rolls, poor response from ailerons but still very twitchy, to fast to land without damaging it, such a shame.
