This handy programming box for the OrangeRx R620X to R1220X V3 and RR12RDTS receivers is perfect to have in your toolbox at the flying field in case you want to change the settings without the need for a PC. It has an integrated RF module that allows you to set up the receiver wirelessly or you can use a wired connection. As the RR12RDTS is primarily designed for drones and helicopters this programming box can also be used to adjust the settings of the flight stabilization systems.

It allows you to make changes to the following:
• Frame rates and encryption
• Output serial protocols for flight controllers
• Analog and MSP protocol telemetry settings
• Baudrate
• Bind settings
• Fail-safe modes

The box has an easy-to-read LCD display (128x64 pixels) and navigation of the menus is easily done with a roller button on the side. Power to the box can be supplied by either a USB or a jack plug up to a maximum voltage of 16.8V DC, so perfect for a 4S lipoly battery.

Manual does not show how to connect for settings. Cable to perform update is missing. Virtually impossible to make yourself. Instructions do not word. Use R720X-V3. Never able to make it recognize the RX. When powered on it just says Failed... No matter how the connections are made.. Really bad experience. Please provide descent manual with actual photos of a working setup. Very frustrating, waste of money. :-(

If you want to change parameters on your receiver than this works fine. If you want to upgrade your receivers, DON'T BUY you will never find the connection needed to perform the upgrade.

I found the scroll button easy to use i.e. rotate to change highlighted item and press to select current item (bit like my Tx).
Use wirelessly as per GARY's comment below.
I was able to switch my CPPM receiver to SBUS! This proves that the only difference between the CPPM and SBUS models seems to be initial firmware configuration.
