Print with this strong, flexible filament to create spare parts, artworks, and 3D models. This advanced PLA filament is a composite PLA with the main component being PLA. It has reduced visibilty of the layer lines but still retains impact resistance and good flexural strength of 11~16 KGF (Kilo Gram Force).

PLA has a lower melting point and prints easier than other materials. One of the most important features of this PLA is it is non-toxic, biodegradable, and bubble-free. It also has a low shrinkage rate, a good round shape, and a uniform diameter tolerance of ± 0.02mm, like most PLA filaments it is very rigid with a minimum of flex. This material can print extremely high-resolution models and is perfect for a wide range of uses.

This PLA is available in a wide range of colors and opacity for that perfect look whether it is artistic or utilitarian, in short, it is a great material for 3D printing. It can be printed without the use of a heat bed and will stick to glass or a PCB plate with a binder such as a hairspray or white glue for a curl free print.

3D printing is a fun and exciting hobby with a wide range of uses from prototyping parts to making toys for the kids. Picking the right filament for your application is very important.

Good value for money, but brittle

Jan 10, 2021

Inexpensive, yellow PLA. It's not a plain yellow, but almost flourescent (however, note that it does NOT flouresce).
Prints well at 210C/bed 60, and I've used it successfully for thin-wall printing as well as up to 30% fill. Good adherence to the bed as long as you get your start-layer gap right (I'm using 0.3mm).
The plastic sets quickly so I've stopped bothering with cooling: equally, it does not slump unless you've got the bed too hot. 50 - 60 is fine for the bed.
The end result is pretty good, but the plastic does "thread" around tight radius print curves, and overall, although strong and pretty light (I am not sure what the density is), the printed item is somewhat brittle, so you can't really expect long-lived items if you are producing mechanical components. I wouldn't use this for RC aircraft, for example.
HobbyKing needs to supply detailed data sheets for this type of raw material (as a downloadable PDF, for example) so you can tune your print settings to reduce waste and ensure print quality - nothing provided for this other than the minimum on the purchase page.
