The Ford Bronco is a famous American 4x4 off-road vehicle. This 1970's model was among the first series called "Early Bronco" which were produced during 1965-1977. Ford released 3 body styles, the fully-open "Roadster", the single cabin pick-up "Utility", and the "Wagon" which had a resin roof. The front suspension featured coil springs combined with the rigid axle, which was a first for a mass-produced 4x4 vehicle which worked well both on and off road.

This chassis features a tough ladder frame with aluminum side channels and resin cross members, 4-link suspension with aluminum rods, 4WD system with lockable differentials, massive off-road tires with sidewall tread pattern and dependable beadlock wheels. The body is accurately reproduced in durable polycarbonate material, giving scale model fans a superbly capable rock crawler with excellent realism.

The CR01 chassis features a 4-link rigid suspension along with front and rear stabilizers which ensures excellent performance. The tires feature foam inserts and have an additional tread pattern on the sidewalls to provide maximum grip in rock crawling environments, the tires are mounted on 3-piece beadlock wheels to prevent them coming off the rims. The damper system is actuated via pushrods and rocker arms while the coil springs help to maintain a controllable stance.

The steering servo is mounted above the axle in an innovative way to reduce interference with the suspension movement. The compact gearbox transfers power to all 4 wheels and its small size enables lower battery position for a perfectly balanced center of gravity. The front and rear 3-bevel diffs can be locked to provide the ultimate level of off-road traction.

Tamiya know how to make a great kit

Jun 02, 2019

Brought this on sale with some reward points and cost me less than £130.00 GBP.
Kit is great quality. And looks awesome. Manual is shockinlee bad for Tamiya. Toke me 3 attempts to get axle camber right.
Also manual mentions fitting a rear steering servo but doesn't supply anything more that the tray to screw it to. Mine might not ever get finished might bolt axles to some thing else.

Bronco cr01

Apr 30, 2019

Still building it but so far impressed with it. Bought some upgrades. Axles, shock upgrade eliminates springs. Some aluminum parts. I grew up on tamiya rc’s. If you did you’ll like the cr01. Took awhile to come from Singapore but well worth the wait.
