The Phoenix 2400 is the largest glider in the Phoenix range. It comes with an almost indestructible ABS plastic hull and strong EPO foam wings and tail section. With its smooth, stiff hull, the Phoenix is durable for a lifetime and yet light enough for the glider to work without any problems. An additional canopy with camera mount is included. Once you have your camera installed, you can either enjoy FPV flying or just take pictures of your flights.

Assembling the glider is quite easy with no glue required. To make travel easier, the wing halves simply snap into place along with a rigid wing spar for added strength. The main wing is 2,400 millimeters long and contains ailerons and flaps for better aircraft control. The fuselage has a built-in single wheel for easier landing on rougher runways.

The speed controller, brushless outrunner motor and 9g servos are all pre-installed. It should only take about 20 minutes for the rest of the build to complete, including adding your own receiver and battery.

Bon planeur

Très bon rapport qualité prix pour ce planeur. Vol stable et bonnes qualités de gratte. Puissance moteur bien adaptée.
Il n'est pas fait pour la voltige même si les figures de base passent.

gladly surprised

After I flew the first one a couple of times, I ordered a second one because it flies so easy and good. The 10x6 props is too small for flying with 3S and a little too big for 4S Lipos. With a 12x6 folding prop you have beetween 32-35A on full trottle with a 3S 2200mAh Lipo. The original Volantex 40 ESC upgrade works OK with it when you mount it right behind the air cooling hole on one side in front of the fuselage. The cheap spinner should be replaced with a proper alloy one for 4mm shafts. Optionally and for saftey reasons I suggest you to replace the rudder anhd elevator servo with good metal gear ones about 2kg holding power...Then you will have tons of realxed fun with this glider and no bad suprises.

Volantex Phoenix

Aug 03, 2021

I was looking for a motorglider to fly in a nearby park. I really didn't expect much, but this was on sale and I had a coupon. It went together quickly except for the decals. They were a pain and I left some off. I took the glider out to our club field first to get it trimmed etc. I used a new 3s 2200 battery and was impressed with the power when I ran it up. I gave it a good toss and away it went. It was a light lift day and one other member was flying a Gentle Lady glider working some light lift. I found the same lift and eventually climbed above him into some stronger lift. We were both surprised at how well it worked even the lightest lift. It does need to fly a bit quicker than the floater type gliders. All in all, I like it and think it was a good value.

Amazing flier

This is a very stable and well designed powered glider. First flight was rock solid in the air. Great handling with slow handling capabilities. Will get 25 minute fly times with thermals. Just shut the motor off and search for thermals. Highly recommend.

Good value glider

Very nice glider (no gyro) to fly in calm weather. Very relaxing. The stock motor is very powerful but this is not a warm liner so forget about doing any aerobatic except a loop here and there. The quick release mechanism of the wing works very well. Watch out landing it in windy days because it will keep gliding. Landing will get easier once you get familiar with its stall speed.

much better than expected

Before flying the new Phoenix 2400 I made some important changes/modifications. First I changed the 4023/1050KV motor to a 25 Gramm heavier 3542/800 kV Motor with an alloy turbo spinner. I do not like small propellers like the stock 10x6 folding prop and I think 1050KV is too much for the stock motor especially with 4S . It will get too hot too soon. I fly now with an 13/8 Aeronaut folding prop in combination with 2200-3000 3S batteries. That gives me 32Amps peak current and a good climbing rate with less power consumption. In 15 seconds I am over 100 meters. Then I changed the rudder and elevator servo to stronger metal gear ones. I do not use the Flaps, landing with Flaperon is really enough. After 25 minutes of flying I had 40% left in the 2200 3s battery and the motor was cold and the stock esc luke warm. The Phoenix 2400 flies much better and much easier then the 2m version. The click wing connections work like a charm. My cog is about 85-90mm. I tried it also with 75-80mm but the plane flew too fast for my taste. All in all I am very satisfied with it. It is very easy too fly and has absolutely no bad habits in the air.
