Back in 2016, the Durafly Tundra took the modeling world by storm. Following the old adage "bigger is better", we then released the immensely popular Grand Tundra. Now, to round out the collection, we present you with the Micro Tundra! Its small size makes it the ultimate park flyer or back yard basher!

The Micro Tundra is available in two color schemes, either the "Classic Green" or the slightly more outrageous and colorful "Graffiti" - both look great on the ground and in the air. This brilliant little model can be flown with either standard wheeled landing gear or with floats and water rudder, both versions are supplied in the box.

The Micro Tundra comes in the usual Durafly Plug and Fly (PNF) format, including the motor, ESC, and 6 micro servos pre-installed, these also include pre-fitted pushrods. The Micro Tundra has working flaps which are unusual to see on such a small model, they are very helpful and great fun for landing in tight spaces. The large main wheels finish off the Tundra look and enable it to easily take off and land on most surfaces. Swap the wheels for the supplied floats and water rudder to turn your favorite local pond or waterway into your Micro Tundra's playground!

Assembly is very straightforward and quick, literally 5 self-tapping screws hold it together so you can be flying within minutes of opening the box. The Micro Tundra is great fun to fly. Being small and agile, it can be flown in very small areas, including indoor venues. For those with a bit of initiative, it's even small enough to tuck away in the suitcase on your next travel adventure!

• Fast and easy assembly
• Beautifully molded and rugged EPO construction
• Pre-installed motor, ESC and servos

Fun to Fly!

Jan 11, 2021

At first I thought this plane was a handful. That was because I tried to fly it like other UMX planes. You need to coordinate your turns and by that I mean to use rudder.
On take-off, keep the elevator neutral and when up to speed, rotate-dont force a short take-off.
I mounted leading edge slats on mine from another brand and let me tell you, this plane loves it. Configured like that, this plane will slow fly, STOL land (you heard me right) and turn on a dime with full flaps and tip stall tendency went bye-bye.

Good flyer, but be aware it can tip tall if flown slowly. Really good fun to play around with the flaps .

Model performs well even in a light breeze and flaps are effective for a nice slow landing. Cruising around with half flap at half throttle allows longer flight time 5 to 6 mins on a 370mah pack.

Aileron rates

Dec 31, 2020

For the first flight, you need the aileron rates set very low so that they move a max of 1/4 inch. Make sure the plane is balanced. I had to put the battery in the receiver area. With the ailerons set higher, the plane is very twitchy. Once the plane is in the air and you get a feel for how it flies, you can use a higher rate on the ailerons.
Flying off of water requires a little more elevator than off the hard stand.

Was expecting a bit more

Dec 29, 2020

Pretty strong plane overall. The foam and wing braces make for a pretty strong model, but they skimped on glue and the cowling. Haven't been able to get through more than 2 flights at a time before something broke - wing mount, wing clip, and landing gear bracket all came unglued. The cowling is very weak and I suggest using clear packing tape on both inside and outside to give it some strength. I also had to replace my elevator servo after my 9th flight. I have had it out 4 times but have never been able to get more than 2 flights at a time before something came undone. It tip stalls in turns and requires a bit of speed. I fly with an Admiral gyro and it handles a slight wind ok. Not a beginner plane but not aerobatic either. Not sure I would spend my money on it again but it lets me fly in a small park by the neighborhood school.
