Back in 2016, the Durafly Tundra took the modeling world by storm. Following the old adage "bigger is better", we then released the immensely popular Grand Tundra. Now, to round out the collection, we present you with the Micro Tundra! Its small size makes it the ultimate park flyer or back yard basher!

The Micro Tundra is available in two color schemes, either the "Classic Green" or the slightly more outrageous and colorful "Graffiti" - both look great on the ground and in the air. This brilliant little model can be flown with either standard wheeled landing gear or with floats and water rudder, both versions are supplied in the box.

The Micro Tundra comes in the usual Durafly Plug and Fly (PNF) format, including the motor, ESC, and 6 micro servos pre-installed, these also include pre-fitted pushrods. The Micro Tundra has working flaps which are unusual to see on such a small model, they are very helpful and great fun for landing in tight spaces. The large main wheels finish off the Tundra look and enable it to easily take off and land on most surfaces. Swap the wheels for the supplied floats and water rudder to turn your favorite local pond or waterway into your Micro Tundra's playground!

Assembly is very straightforward and quick, literally 5 self-tapping screws hold it together so you can be flying within minutes of opening the box. The Micro Tundra is great fun to fly. Being small and agile, it can be flown in very small areas, including indoor venues. For those with a bit of initiative, it's even small enough to tuck away in the suitcase on your next travel adventure!

• Fast and easy assembly
• Beautifully molded and rugged EPO construction

Easy Assembly

Feb 21, 2021

Went together easily. ESC doesn't fit very well. Had to move it to accommodate battery. Like the fact that it came with floats as well as wheels. Haven't been able to fly it yet because of weather but look forward to seeing how easy it is to fly

Could be better

Feb 17, 2021

this is a great airframe but the motor and esc are too small. I have upgraded my motor and engine and now this plane is awesome! This plane now flys better than a regular size tundra. It can perform all aerobatics with ease and has unlimited vertical climbing capability. The flaps work great for short take off and landing. I have also installed nav lights and wheel pants and heavy duty shock absorbers.

Tundra

Feb 10, 2021

This plane is terrible. I have not had a successful flight to this date. Not sure why but it lifts a wing and becomes unstable. I've replaced the receiver. same prob. Had to replace ele and rud servos. Wing mount and gear mount pulled out of the foam.

Overall great little flyer with a few drawbacks

Jan 29, 2021

I bought this plane to have something to fly from water and snow. Takes off and lands well on both, in low wind. I found the flaps to be useless on this small plane. They really don't help with takeoff or landing but fortunately you can do both without them. Eventually I removed them from the transmitter program because they just make the plane difficult to fly and don't add anything helpful. The EPP construction is great. I have had a few hard landings with no damage except scuffing the decals of the EPP however there are some weak spots. The cowling is very thin and delicate. After I cracked it I decided to coat it with a very thin fiberglass layer which I often do with kit planes. Also the wing struts have weak plastic fittings at the ends where you screw them to the plane. I fiberglassed the ends also after one of them broke. With the floats on, the plane flies well but is certainly not aerobatic and you have to watch out for stalls because its a bit heavy for the wing area. I power in for landings because gliding is a bit sketchy unless you are going in fast and steep. The other thing you will notice is that with the floats on turning is tricky. Give it just a bit of rudder to help out the turns otherwise you will slide through the turns. Great thing is I have a nice little plane to take to the lake and fly on the days when everything is covered in snow around here, which is much of the winter. Don't expect an agile flyer or an easy flier but she is sturdy and flies well enough if you have some experience.

Fun to Fly!

Jan 11, 2021

At first I thought this plane was a handful. That was because I tried to fly it like other UMX planes. You need to coordinate your turns and by that I mean to use rudder.
On take-off, keep the elevator neutral and when up to speed, rotate-dont force a short take-off.
I mounted leading edge slats on mine from another brand and let me tell you, this plane loves it. Configured like that, this plane will slow fly, STOL land (you heard me right) and turn on a dime with full flaps and tip stall tendency went bye-bye.
