The Geronimo 2.0m is one of the devilishly good range of performance gliders that offer you quality, proven performance, looks and speed at a saintly good price!

The Geronimo has a nicely finished composite fuselage and expertly built, fully sheeted balsa two piece wing. As you would expect, the wing is removable for easy transportation and fast field assembly. The wing joiner consists of a solid 10mm x 480mm carbon fibre rod - No strength issues here! The wing also features a Modified HN-354 airfoil, which is well known is F3B and F5B circles, this airfoil provides a wide speed envelope, add a little reflex to the wing and watch her accelerate, yet slightly droop trailing edge and your Geronimo will slow down and thermal soar quite efficiently. This trailing edge control is available to those that choose to fly this model with a computer radio - via the mixing of the aileron and flap channels.

Power system choices are huge with this airframe! She will fly sedately on 300-400 watts and for the adrenaline junkies amongst us - she'll take upwards of 800 watts without breaking a sweat!

Geronimo uses a V-tail configuration for excellently crisp handling and low drag. There is no doubt, the Geronimo has been designed for performance, this is a nice quality ARF model that any RC Pilot would be proud to own, performance was never so affordable!

Love this plane! Took some building skills but got there in the end. She is super fast and yet still, forgiving, lands like a dream. Have put a turnigy 1050kv motor (850 watts) with an 11 x 8 folding prop and turnigy nanotech 2200 35 - 70 c battery.

Amazing delivery speed from HK to Canada in less than 2 weeks. The Geronimo is a really nice glider, it seems to be much inspired by the GEM from Topmodel.
I have used other comments to equip it :
6 servos TGY-9018MG Metal Gear Servo 2.5kg/13g/0.10 (I installed the two fuselage servos side by side)
I took a guess for the motor and ordered :Turnigy GliderDrive SK3 Competition Series - 3858 - 4.6 840kv and the guess was excellent!! fits nicely Inside fuse (it's an outorunner in a can) and have used a 60A blue UBEC from HK.
With a carbon 13x8 it is pulling Under 40A on a 3S 2100 35C LiPo.
I have also purchased a 14x9 and will try it later on when I am comfortable with this little beast.
It took me a little over 20 hours to complete the setup (the wing servo holder for aileron and flaps took some brain juice as I did not want to glue them in the wing and be able to change a broken servo).
The wing to fuselage join system is a shame (the factory bolts are not even level) I have made a 4 nylon screws and plywood setup I will post picture from if anyone has interest.
I have also madly reinforced the V-tail.
And also reworked the link to v-tail moving surfaces
As stated by other reviewers : Most of the hardware is really low quality and barely usable.
You will need at least two pair of good quality control horns, clevises, threaded pushrods (the ones included are really brittle).

I received the Geronimo few months ago and couldn't get to assemble it straight away because the parcel wasn't very good. The fuse was cracked, I was upset and started to repair it straight away then it occur to me to contact HK, they opened a case but due to work commitments couldn't follow up on the case and the fact that I started repairing made me slack on the case so HK closed it. Anyway, after some fibreglass repair and a paint job with my touch up spray gun I had it ready.

I did not like the servo tray. I used metal gear 2.5K turnigy servos and they were far bigger than the tray had. So I cut it off and made a new one. The attachment horn in the tail was rubbish. It did not thread into the horn screwed part as it was far too big. Similar was the hardware. I barely used any. I guess for the price of the plane it didnt matter but have in mind you will need good hardware and better the take provisions when buying the plane.

The elevator-rudder (v tail for short) was a bit of a problem, it had far more up than down as the hinging was not very good however, the instructions say 20mm up or down and I could only get 20 up but only 15 down max (due to the hinge!), during test the fact was that 20mm is far more than necessary so it didn't matter.

The ailerons throw is adequate and the plane is quite fast. I tested it in 15 mph winds, it ended up to be a windy day but I decided

Very cheap and fragile.
Catalog Spec says "HotLiner" "HN354 AeroFoil"
but the flight is too different from specs.

Speedy is much better.

hi, I got this plane 2 weeks ago, and just flied it, its an excellent plane one of my best. My setting was turnigy 3648 850kv with Folding Prop Spinner 38mm / 5.0mm shaft, Carbon Fibre 14x8 Folding Prop Blades, six of Turnigy TGY-9018MG Metal Gear Servo 2.5kg/13g/0.10, and TURNIGY Plush 80A w/ UBEC Speed Controller, for the ESC you can go with the plush 60A too if you like. The most important was the modification made, first I used a 2.5mm CF sheet, cut a additional fire wall and epoxied it form inside, epoxied both wing, then added 6cmx3cm CF 2.5mm to the leading and trailing edge in middle of wing, remove covering and glue with cyano, drill them and only use one 3mm bolt in each one to fix the wing, don't forget to put a new blind nut and reinforce where the wings sit, for me I used a broken heli blade and cut a part and fix it inside the fuse just under the wing, then drilled it and fixed my blind nut. For the tail I only put CF rod 2.5mm one up and one down left and one down right just along the tail, don't forget you must drop cyano on the push rod tube to glue it along the fuse to avoid slope, use 22003S 40C it goes to 4 minutes full throttle or 20 minutes if only gliding, finally its a wonder full plane. Use separate ailerons and flaps to mix butterfly and crow and you will land in 15 meters!!

Hi All. I got my Geronimo a week ago, it arrived very well packed, with no Damge. A few minor parts were missing. The couple of big things to note are:
The suggested 36mm diameter outrunners won't fit, unless you run the wires, out of the fuselage. I contacted FlyFly, who confirmed this.
My suggestion (although I am a newby at gliders), is to look at the Turnigy inrunners. FlyFly say you can get a 36mn inrunner to fit...around 1300kv. I know these suffer from heat, so maybe a cooling spinner, like what is fitted to the multiplex blizzard, might be up to the job?.
The other thing I'm not keen on is is way the sparse instructions suggest you simply glue the tail on?!. There isn't anything else supplied. I'm gonna make something to hold it in!!.
Oh, and I don't like the way the 2 halves of the fuselage have been stuck together. Apart from all that, it's a nice looking plane!. If I was trying to get serious about this side of the hobby, or didn't have much building experience, then maybe another product would be a better choice.

One last thing about the colours??...I like them!!.

I hope this helps. I welcome suggestions from anyone, regarding motor or tail mounting, e.t.c.

Just received the Geronimo 2.0 today.
I was anxious about ordering another plane through hobbyking after a bad experience with the HK reverb,(broken wingtips). Happy to report that the geronimo 2.0 was packed with a lot more care than the reverb. Packing could still be better as the tail control rods left indentations on the left wing, this could easily have been avoided.(Take Note Hobbyking).
Covering looks good 99pcnt wrinkle free. I'm unfamiliar with the control surface hinging method of this plane as the only thing that seems to be linking the control surface to the wing vtail is the covering. This is at the top surface of the wing.
The wing is built up balsa and vtail is balsa, fuse is fiberglass.
Carbon spar may need to be shaved down as there is a ~4mm gap prohibiting the wings from contacting. I'm afraid to put too much pressure on it.Flaps and ailerons appear to run approximately equal lengths. Overall impression is great for the money, included control horns etc might want to be upgraded. Can't wait to see her in the air.
