The Volantex 4 channel Trainstar Ascent with a 1400mm wingspan is the ideal size for an electric RC trainer. It has all the attributes of a good trainer airplane, first off, it is strong, the high wing gives it stability, and the wide, large-wheeled landing gear with a steerable tailwheel gives it excellent ground handling. The fuselage is blow-molded from a tough, rugged, and flexible plastic with plywood formers that will take a lot of punishment, it will bend and flex before breaking. The wings and tail components are equally as strong, these are manufactured from tough EPO foam, the foam hinges are also reinforced with plastic hinges for strength. Assembly is very straightforward, no gluing is required, the tail parts are screwed on and the wings attach via a metal spar. The wings are kept safely in place using the popular Volantex fast connect clips, after flying, simply squeeze the clips to release the wings.
Being "Plug N Fly", the Trainstar Ascent has the following pre-installed, a powerful 4023-1050KV brushless motor, a 40A electronic speed controller with BEC, and the 4 x 9g servos. All you have to do is attach the supplied control horns to the ailerons, elevator, and rudder, then fit the control push-rods. The supplied hardware pack also includes a 12x6 propeller, spinner, and propeller to motor adapter.
The Trainstar Ascent is the ideal airplane for anyone entering the hobby and wishing to learn to fly due to its large wing area, high wing configuration, and rugged design. Once you have gained experience its large powerful control surfaces and abundance of power make it also ideal as an aerobatic trainer, this makes the Ascent the perfect all-rounder airplane.
