The XFLY T-7A Red Hawk 750mm EDF jet is an easy-to-fly, versatile EDF trainer that will appeal to a wide variety of pilots, including those with limited experience in flying EDF jets. The 4S compatible power system includes a 12-bladed 64mm fan unit that delivers ample power for an abundance of thrust, speed, and an incredible turbine-like sound. The full-size Boeing-Saab T-7 Red Hawk (originally known as the Boeing T-X) is an American/Swedish advanced jet trainer that was designed to replace the popular Northrop T-38 Talon. The design is smaller, but very similar to the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 with its large leading edge root extensions, and V-shaped twin vertical tail design. These design features give the full-size incredible maneuverability and excellent low-speed handling, these attributes carry over extremely well to the XFLY model of the T-7A Red Hawk.
The XFLY T-7A is supplied in a "Plug-N-Fly" format meaning that it not only includes the fan, motor, and ESC, but 5 x 9g digital servos as well, all you need to supply is a transmitter, receiver, and a 4S (14.8V) 2200~2650mAh LiPo battery. The strong landing gear supplied is fixed with a steerable nose gear, but due to the very stable flight characteristics of the T-7A, it is quite happy being hand-launched with the landing gear removed. This takes it to the next level with even more speed and almost unlimited vertical performance.
The model is made from very tough EPO foam and is beautifully finished in the color scheme used for training and other missions of the United States Air Force. Assembly is quick and simple, there is a small amount of gluing to do on the tail components, but the rest is simply screwed together.
So if you are after a great-looking, scale EDF jet that can be flown with or without landing gear, is easy to hand launch, is smooth and stable in flight with excellent handling qualities, then the XFLY T-7A Red Hawk is for you.
