Product Description

The F9F/F-9 Cougar was an aircraft carrier-based fighter jet built for the United States Navy. Based on the earlier F9F Panther, the Cougar replaced the Panther's straight wing with a more modern swept wing. The Navy considered the Cougar an updated version of the Panther despite having a different official name, and thus Cougars started off from F9F-6 upwards.

This stunning F9F-8 Cougar comes with a realistic high detail finish & true-scale outline that looks just like the real thing! Featuring a superbly finished composite fuselage and built-up wing/tail section that is expertly factory covered with high quality covering film, this Cougar is a real looker that is bound to draw looks of admiration at your favorite flying site. Functional air brakes on the bottom of the fuselage add to the scale realism of this model and the high level of detail that is incorporated into the paint scheme make this Cougar a great choice for the scale enthusiast, the chosen scheme is also ideal for orientation.

The Cougar is supplied with a fixed under-carriage set but is also retract ready, for those flying off long grass, fitting the usual bungee launch system will present no problems.

To complete this model you will require 8 x mini servos, 90mm EDF unit w/motor, ESC and 6CH or more radio system. The large internal canopy area also allows for a wide choice of lipoly batteries ranging from 6~8S.

Das Flugverhalten ist auch sehr gut, siehe Video, leider mit einer nicht so schnen Landung.

Excelenter Flieger! Fliege die Maschine ohne Fahrwerk mit zugeklebten Fahwerksklappen und starte auf dem" Bauch rutschend" von der Wiese.Eingebaut ist ein Wemotec Midi Van Evo mit entsprechendem 6S Antrieb und 5800er Zippy sowie Yep 150 A Regler.
DIe Einlaufkanle wurden nachgearbeitet und verstrkt. Der Sound des Antriebs ist genial wie bei einer echten Turbine.Die Schubkraft betrgt bei ca 3,5kp bei einem Abfluggewicht von 3,2kg.Die max. Stromaufnahme betrgt 115A!

The only problem I had with the fit and finish of this splendid jet was that the flaps didn't fit flush with the fuselage. Aside from that, I would definitely buy it again. As a matter of fact I will buy it again! I obliterated it on maiden. Not the fault of the plane. It flew beautifully. It horse-dragged my butt all over the sky. I was clearly not ready to solo this jet. On about the fifth landing attempt I got too far down range and lost radio contact. Instead of turning into final, it plowed into a field of wholesome Santa Maria broccoli. Me little heart was broked! Buy it, yes. Fly it if you're ready. Otherwise get help. Laugh, you haughty, ball-busting vets!

I just got this beautiful model a few days ago. I must say that I was impressed. So far it has gone togeather very well. The left wing wouldent go on properly as the wingtube was not set in the right spot but with a little tempering it was perfect. The atention to detail on this model is just amazing. I found the manual that was supplied with this model was very helpfull and easy to follow. I have not flown the model yet but have herd it is very nice to fly and can't wait. Great job HK

Can't believe how well this flies. Quality is excellent and manual is good. I used a cg 5mm foward of the centre line of the landing gear well. I reduced ailerons 3mm and increased elevator 3mm from stated in the manual. Flaps only work if you get as much as you can from them I think 20mm more than manual states. The cougar will slow down nice without flaps but mine is a P20 conversion and flaps are nice to over come static thrust. The stock landing gear is to solid and will break the mounts first landing I would use PRODUCT ID: 225000018 and matching nose retract but you will have to sort out your own legs. I used habu 32 wire struts and push pull from same. This Cougar takes off in half the distance of my habu32 p20 and flies better at the same weight. Very happy
