Excellent Lazer cutting

Well designed vintage type kit. All lazer cut parts push out with light finger pressure. Great fit on all parts. Good plans. I did have a parts shortage, but that was taken care of by Hobby King in short order. Plane does not need ailerons. The rudder is extremely effective. Flies very well.

Very nice but not without it's problems

Glad I got my kit well before Xmas as it has gone up by UK £23 of late. This is why I docked 1 Value star for those buying it now..
Overall a good kit which builds into a nice vintage style model.
Lost 1 Quality and 1 Overall star for two reasons.
1) My kit didn't include the advertised PVC windscreen glazing - was this another omission like the printed manual but one (unlike the absence of a manual, which is covered in the description ) which seems not to have been picked up by HK - or just a fault in my particular kit? Either way not a problem for those of us with a well-stocked hobby room but the absence of any glazing at all could be a problem for newbies.
2) Make sure you find the most flexible length of the provided 6x6 wood to extend the lower longerons. In my case the recommended water treatment didn't work to flex the longerons to follow the front bottom curve. Had to resort to leaving them overnight in household ammonia before they would conform, and even then it required a lot of pins and weights to hold them in shape until they'd dried out again. before they would follow the plan.
Once built and covered it looks the part. BTW, My completed plane is working well with an SK3 3536 1200Kv motor on 3 cells. If using 3 rather than 4 cells (4 would provide very non-vintage performance! ) you might want to use the biggest cells you have in order to achieve the recommended CG and (of course) to prolong your flights!

Very happy with the kit for this model.
All seams good with crisp layer cutting and the wood look to be good quality and straight. Lovely old timer design and should be lovely when completed. Only minus, a small one, the wheels look to small for the model of this type. I’ll be using larger light weights to complete my build in the usual old timer way.
