AMA East Expo 2018 Wrap Up

HobbyKing recently participated in the AMA Expo East (formerly the WRAM Show) in 2018 for the first time.

We arrived in New Jersey with a truck full of RC goodies of all kinds and built up a great looking booth. In addition to the booth, we also set up a 12'x12' RC racetrack to run our Mini-Q Cartoon cars on. Kids of all ages (and some adults!) had a blast racing around. We even set a car up with an FPV camera so folks could try racing with goggles. We also displayed the video feed on a monitor for all to enjoy. Everyone knows that HobbyKing is a leader in RC aircraft and we did not disappoint the attendees with our models. On display, we had many of our newest models, including:

We also had the as-yet-unreleased Avios Grand Tundra on hand, which brought in a LOT of traffic from curious pilots. Folks couldn't get enough of it... the Grand Tundra was the star of the show. We also had the upcoming Durafly Spitfire Mk24 V2, which is simply a beautiful model with its scale details and 5-blade prop. Additionally, we not only brought planes with us but we also bought a few quadcopters, such as:

  • Quanum Nova Pro
  • King Kong Fly Egg 130
  • King Kong GT90

We did not skimp on surface vehicles by any means having displayed a number of our most popular RC cars and boats. For cars we had:

  • 1/8th Scale Berserker
  • 1/16th Scale Bad Bug
  • 1/8th Rattler
  • 1/10th Tropper Pro SCT
  • Basher Rocksta Crawler

For drift fans we brought:

For some water-based fun, we brought the Hydrotek F1 racing boat and tossed that into the pond for some fast laps. It was easily the fastest boat in the pond. We also brought out the Fun Cruiser yacht which endeared itself to a lot of attendees due to its sleek look and scale details. Like most, we are really interested in using 3D printing technology, so we brought our famous Turnigy Mini-Fabrikator V2 which ran all day, every day. With our printer, we created HobbyKing logos that we handed out. In all, it was a great event and we're happy to have been a part of it. HobbyKing sponsored the main stage which hosted a great roster of talented folks speaking on a number of RC and RC-related subjects.

We were very pleased to have been able to help facilitate this and the community is a big part of what makes our hobby great. We'd like to thank all the folks at AMA that helped us and that put on such a great event. We plan on attending the upcoming AMA West Expo so join us in California in November for what we're sure is going to be another fantastic event.
