If you’re craving speed, the EFXtra is where it’s at, with out of the box performance in excess of 100mph+. Durafly retained spirit of the EFX Racer and focused on adding extra performance, like the incredible roll and climb rates.
There are plenty of high-performance features and new additions over the EFX Racer. The Durafly EFXtra boasts a new clipped wing (975mm) to give extreme roll rates. An upgraded 3536-1780kv brushless motor (using ultra-high-speed Japanese bearings) with a 60A Aerostar ESC has been added, and optimized, for up to 4S performance. Higher speed, higher torque digital 9g servo's (metal geared on the ailerons) together with ball link connectors provide true precision control of all surfaces no matter what speed you are traveling. We’ve even included FPV mount in the box for the Adeline junkies that love to live life on the edge.
Durafly heard your calls and redesigned the airframe to fit larger capacity Lipo battery packs resulting in longer flight times. The aircraft is stronger than ever with both glass and carbon fiber reinforcements throughout whilst keeping the airframe as light as possible. Super Compressed EPO foam and polished finish to deliver the ultimate in performance with the sleekest of looks. How fast you go depends on the propeller and battery size. The plane comes with two propellers, for the standard setup of 3S an 8x6 prop or for performance setup of a 4S a 7x6.5 prop.
Complimenting the amazing speeds of the EFXtra is its stability at low speed making hand launching and landing a dream. The FXtra is also an agile slope soarer, just remove the propeller and spinner and add, the provided, slope soaring nose cone. Once again, the airframe provides excellent stability at all speeds to make it a breeze to fly in all conditions. Imagine slope soaring with FPV.
The EFXtra clips and screws together in minutes allowing you to get in the air as soon as possible. Just install your receiver and battery and you’re in the air.

Fly's great, went straight to 4s and out of the box performance is pretty good. Disappointing that after only 4 flights the motor bearings have turned to jelly and need replacing, seems it's not uncommon as there are posts on an owners thread about this. Not a difficult job just annoying they need doing and why I only give 4/5Really cool plane for the money. Looks are great, build quality as well, flies nice in all speed regimes. Really fast for that money too!! Only thing I don't like is the tendency to pitch up with more speed. (tried two different models) Probably some sort of reason built in, but I'd like my planes to be totally neutral in handling. Mixed thrust to pitch a bit, and added washers on top two motor-mount points to improve the handling in this matter. Did a 3Dprinted aerodynamic FPC hatch for everyone to download if desired. It works well in 100% sized PLA print. (See pics and "EFexFPV-v9_3.stl"-file under "Upload Files" tab above.)Really a cool plane. I have 2 of these. I'm not much of a hand launcher, tried it, don't like it so I fitted my two birds with landing gear made it from wire stock from home depot, just glassed it with epoxy to the bottom part of the wing, walla. Had to shop a bit for the tail wheel though. Both look great and my friends love the look.
So I'm just getting going again after a while, basically having to learn everything all over again. My radio setup is spectrum AS636 with stability.
I;ve been learning on these models. The great part about learning on one of these, is once you've learned on something like this, and become proficient, your ready for almost anything.
This plane really preforms well, in virtually all areas. But here is the best part. I'm out practicing, I crash like 5 times that day. Three fouled landings, and one straight into the dirt.
The plane is unbelievable durable. Seriously!
There was another learner out at the field that day, he had some sort of a high wing Cessna, with stability, and a bail out. He crashed, not even a serious one. He came walking back with 3 pieces. Then he asks me, "Why when you crash, you dust it off and go again, then when I do it destroys my plane". I could barely keep a straight face.
So if your learning, and really want to learn something, Have a little courage, Try one of these. I can't recommend it enough.Same highest quality standards as in other Durafly models. It flies like on rails and it is really fast. I use a 40C 1800mAh Zippy compact and CoG is directly achieved. The recommended 2200 mAh is too heavy (I tried it too)Quality product, well designed and good quality fittings. Flies true and Is fast on the 4s. Upgraded to 6s and its blistering! Superb whoosh sound at high speed. Tough too. One of my all time favourite buysi`ve had this plane for 2 weeks now with a dozen 3s flights on it. and i`m impressed. easy to build, apart from trying to fit the rx, hand launch is not too hard. real easy to fly. stable even in strong wind. a bit of yaw wobble but that`s no problem. it really is a great flyer. far better than a purple rare bear i got from ........ what a pig! when i crash my efxtra, i`ll probably get another one. can`t wait to try 4s.Just completed mine. The stock setup works fine and gives a good starting point for all.
As I am pounding for the need of speed, I have optimized some detals as follows:
Original motor improvements: Reduction of vibration by stabilizing the front and rear ball bearing in its bearing case of the motor. It has some play, especially the rear one. A bit of Loctite or similar will eliminate that play.
Reduction of axial play by tightening the aft locker ring down to the spacers. This will reult in a RPM proof motor, taking more beating when you intend to go 4S plus...
Both fuselage servos are a bit much forward meaning that if you use larger batteries, then the GC is a bit too far forward.(applicable to 4S 2200mAh and up..) you need to throw all weight to the aft (receiver, etc.)
Handling wise one of the best I have seen. Rock stable and precise to drive close to the ground at speeds of 200km/h and moreReceived this plane fast from hobby king open up the box was very young happy with the plane assembly was pretty much straight forward and and had no problem with the cg I'm flying it on a 4s median was no problem am buying a second just in case of a pilot errorHo comprato 4 di questi aerei.
Mi diverto tantissimo con prestazioni eccellenti.
Grazie Hobby king.Great flyer
