We have all had to start learning to fly an RC model at some point, and a stable, high-wing trainer that is very forgiving is what is required. The Dancing Wings Hobby Vogee-16 Trainer is the perfect choice for the rookie pilot. It has a large, flat-bottomed wing with dihedral which enables it to fly very slowly, and it has the stability to sort itself out if you get in a muddle. The Vogee's flying characteristics are very benign, beginners tend to over-control, and the Vogee is very gentle in its handling, especially if you install one of the readily available 3-axis gyros that are available on the market these days. It also has a tricycle landing gear with a steerable nosewheel which really helps with the take-offs and landings.
The kit comes almost ready to fly and is constructed in balsa for a strong, lightweight, structure that has been factory-covered in an eye-catching, easy-to-see bright color scheme. The versatility of the Vogee-16 means that it can be powered by either an electric or a GP (gas/nitro) setup. This version of the Vogee is supplied with a powerful 2817-900KV brushless motor, a 60A brushless ESC, an 11" prop, 2 x 37g servos, and 2 x 17g servos.
The Dancings Wings Hobby Vogee-16 is a very straightforward build and is easily assembled by those with very little experience. You will need to supply your own transmitter, receiver, and battery, and you will also require some tools and glue to complete the model.
