Hallo ich habe einen Kreiselempfänger eingebaut. die 4 Klappen des Flügels habe ich einzeln Angesteuert. So macht der Flieger richtig Spaß. Ich nutze ihn im Lehrer - Schüler Einsatz wobei der Automatik-Modus eine große Hilfe ist. Fliegt auch ohne Gyro sehr eigenstabil.

Prop does not fold

The prop does not fold during flight and the manual states virtually nothing about the engine and ESC and how to correct the prop not folding.

HK: If the prop is not folding then the brake has possibly not been set on the ESC.

If the brake has not been set, then please follow these steps.
1. Move the throttle stick to the full throttle/top position and switch the transmitter on.
2. Connect the flight battery to the ESC, after a couple of secs you will then get a series of beeps to say it has entered program mode.
3. You will then get a single beep, as soon as you hear this close the throttle, your will then get sequence of beeps to say this selection has been set.
4. Disconnect the battery from the ESC and switch off the transmitter.
5. Start up in the normal way and hopefully the brake has been set and the prop should fold.

I have quite a few RC airplanes. Some are really expensive. This very reasonably priced plane is one of my favorites. Not the "best" at any one thing, but very good at everything. It's good at gliding, basic aerobatics, and, with those flaps down, it can fly quite slowly. Add in those awesome lights and you've got a very fun to fly airplane. I really enjoy flying my Night Walrus. In the end fun is what RC flying is all about.

Wife bought me this anniversary gift, and I couldn't be happier with it. The worst part of assembling was finding good placement for the wires and components. Hooked up the servo leads to a 6-channel receiver and used servo tape to mount the receiver deep inside, near the fuse air vent hole below the wings. The 2200 mAh lipo rests between the elevator and rudder servos and is held in place by a battery strap glued to the floor of the fuse. The ESC is servo taped onto the sidewall of the hatch opening and the 3 motor wires are bent to conform to the interior of the fuse. I zip tied the 6 wire LED wire sets together and taped them to the top inside of the fuse at the hatch so they won't interfere with the servo arms. To fly; the canopy, fuse, and LED power wires are placed above and to the front of the battery as the canopy is clipped into place, thus eliminating servo arm entanglement. I did not have any problem as some others did with wing attachment screws. Mine lined up well. On the 4th flight, one prop blade broke off. I replaced both blades with Volantex glider blades and after 11 flights, have not had any problems. This plane regularly gets 25 to 35 minute flights. It launches easily, has nice vertical performance, and rolls and loops as well as any glider I own. And it does not want to land! Full flaps or no flaps, without throttle, it scoots across a 200 yard field barely losing the last 3 feet of altitude. I have to push it down to get it to land. After getting familiar flying it in daylight, I put it into my 4 plane night flier lineup. This is where it really shines. After sundown, when I float and gyrate at 300 feet, people from a nearby highway come to the field to watch. I've been told that they can see the plane from a mile away. Flying 20 feet above the field after dark really lights up the field beneath the plane. In the winter I tape over the cooling vents on the bottom of the fuse to prevent snow intrusion then fly over the snowpack. Unbelievably bright!! I had to wait a year before HK replenished their USA stock, but as soon as they did, I bought a 2nd plane "just in case". I very highly recommend the Night Walrus as a glider and a night flier.

I wrote a extensive review on the Walrus I will continue some things I missed on the first review. Most important thing is check the prop balance this is imperative my night Walrus prop was so out of balance I had to add some washers to one side of hinge just to begin to get it in. Removing material on trailing edge and end of heavy side eventually brought in. Had I flew it like it was out of box motor mount would not have lasted two flights. Props are back ordered so order 9 by 5 folding props on line who knows when you be able to get stock props. I broke one prop blade on maiden my fault motor was spinning when I landed because I have both Walruses I was able to switch props. Last thing the clevis on elevator to control horn does not work well had to remove some foam on both aircraft. Recommend find a narrower clevis might work better. Over all both Walruses are a joy to fly recommend both. Take time do some modifications read some reviews you can get some good ideas. 5 stars after doing modifications. FYI some spare parts come from EU or Global have a lot higher shipping rate and longer time to receive check when you order HobbyKing tells you where it is coming from.
